My next post talks about using Yahoo! Pipes to combine, filter and manipulate feeds, and uses a simple example that I make use of here. I use Pipes to strip the replies (@username) from my feed before publishing (the "lifestream" tab). I'll have that up by Tuesday; it's already here: http://www.idealware.org/blog/2009/03/more-rss-tools-managing-content-with.html.

I'm very much enjoying the Twitter integrations available at present. At this stage our blog posts are being syndicated to Twitter via twitterfeed, and then from twitter on to Facebook via the Facebook Twitter application. From Twitter we could also be sending them on to friendfeed and a couple of others, as well as publishing a panel of our most recent tweets on a side panel of the main web site here: http://www.channelcomputing.co.uk/internet-marketing/ This allows us to update one place only and then leverage it in a variety of related sites and pages.

MyNewsCrawler is a stand-alone application that is half way between a CMS with RSS-aggregator and a pure RSS reader like Simplepie or Magpie.
It lets you build your site in a very short time and you don't need programming knowledge (doesn't hurt either).
Install the program, select your RSS-sources, define your filters and let MyNewsCrawler do the rest.
Comes with lots of buit-in features like multi-language support, RSS-feed generation, boolean fulltext filters, categories, per source crawl intervals and more. With little knowledge of CSS and HTML you can adapt one of the templates to your needs.
Also comes with an AJAX-driven scroller widget that you can place on an existing site.
